Pro-create!
But today I have an interesting topic at hand. The Govt plan to increase our Local Population.
They have increase the 3 months to 4 months maternity. This is due to the feedback from the female population. They prefer to have that additional 1 month rather than letting the father have a Paternity leave. Why can't they let both the father and mother take the additional 1 month of leave?
Yes it is a big cost to the company if both are to take leave. It makes business sense just to let one go rather than two. Yet to raise a baby is and should be two people role(expect single mother/father). The stress that a mom has to undertake while caring for the infant are huge. Changing of diapers, feeding the baby, hoaxing them to sleep and many other small little things. All these takes up a huge amount of time. Allowing father to assist the mom in the first month will not going lessen the burden on the mom but also allow the father to bond with their child.
This is a mindset issue and it might take a long time before both the govt and company are willing to accept it.
Now my next issue that I'm going to talk might come back and bite my A*s. In the paper these past few days, many people talk about the past that how we can pro-create without govt incentives. I agreed with them having a big family should not have money as a push factor.
It is all about having time. With ample time, feelings can develop, communication can improved and will result in well more time to "做人". Maybe the Govt, should implement a "No OT' policy or no OT over certain period of time. Any company that flout the rules shall be fine.
I'm very into having a big family. I want to have a min. of 3 children before I hit 35 years old. Yes this is my dream and Yes I'm still single making my dream a hard to become reality. My love life sucks everytime I go after a gal they reject me.(another story for another time)
People always said that Guy reaching 30s are their prime. Prime for their job, I agreed. But prime in starting a family, this I have a different view. Having a kid at late 30s means that when they get married and start having a family I might be in my 60s odd. I like to be there to carry and with a little grace from God to be able to hear my grandchild call me grandpa. Call me old school this is how I want my life to end.
If every when God call me home and ask me do I have a good life. I will said yes knowing that I have live long enough to see my children grow up, get married and to be able to hold my grandchildren in my arms.
Kids are never a burden because in them runs your blood!

Something I liked to share
Just like to share this with anyone out there reading my blog
The truly lucky people are the ones who manage to become long- time friends before they realize they are attracted to each other. They get to know each other’s laughs, passions, sadness, and fears. They see each other at their worst and at their best. They share time together before they get swept into the entangling intimacy of their sexuality.
One of these is laughter. Laughter tells you how much you will enjoy each other’s company over the long term. If your laughter together is good and healthy, and not at the expense of others, then you have a healthy relationship to the world. Laughter is the child of surprise. If you can make each other laugh, you can always surprise each other. And if you can always surprise each other, you can always keep the world around you new. Beware of a relationship in which there is no laughter. Even the most intimate relationships based only on seriousness have a tendency to turn sour. Over time, sharing a common serious viewpoint on the world tends to turn you against those who do not share the same viewpoint, and your relationship can become based on being critical together.
After laughter, look for a partner who deals with the world in a way you respect. When two people first get together, they tend to see their relationship as existing only in the space between the two of them. They find each other endlessly fascinating, and the overwhelming power of the emotions they are sharing obscures the outside world. As the relationship ages and grows, the outside world becomes important again. If your partner treats people or circumstances in a way you can’t accept, you will inevitably come to grief. Look at the way she cares for others and deals with the daily affairs of life. If that makes you love her more, your love will grow. If it does not, be careful. If you do not respect the way you each deal with the world around you, eventually the two of you will not respect each other.
If you believe in your heart that you have found someone with whom you are able to grow, if you have sufficient faith that you can resist the endless attraction of the road not taken and the partner not chosen, if you have the strength of heart to embrace the cycles and seasons that your love will experience, then you may be ready to seek the miracle that marriage offers. If not, then wait.
Being alone is not sad
Some said why am I so sad, what happen to me and all.
I laugh at that cause I don't feel any of those and wonder how they came to that conclusion.
Let me clarify this. I was not sad nor unhappy on that Friday.
For those who knows me I do watch movie alone. I have been doing that for a long time that I don't bother to keep tracks the number of years I do that. Also when one goes to the movie who sit and pay attention to what is showing on the big screen. So does it matter if you are alone or with friends in the movies? It does not, the only matter is after the movies. But then again I talking about watching movie alone not about pre or post movies.
Oh about the movie, I walk into the cinema on Friday without having my portion of the ticket stub tear. Meaning the door was open with no one guarding it and I just walk in. Now I wonder can I do that next time w/o a ticket hehehehe.

Me, Myself and Mine Shadow
The Dark Knight
The show has good solid Plot, excellent action scenes and a touch of humor. What makes me like the show is not Batman. Everyone will agreed that the true Star is Joker.
Jack Nicholson was a good Joker then. But Heath Ledger brings out the insanity, the belief in anarchy and the diabolic laughter of the Joker to life.
The simple lips wetting of the mouth by him throughout the movie shows how crazy the clown really is when taking life. The Joker by Heath is now an official icon for all Batman movies to come. I wonder who now can fill his shoes in the Batman installment to comes. Maybe they will not do another Batman movie with Joker in it. That is how good he is I will remember how good and how scary he has made Joker to be. The line he said, "Why the Sad Face" and then craved the smile on the victim face. Classic to be!
Well after the movie I went to spend some quality time with myself, a book and my PSP at one fullerton. Sat at the StarBuck cafe there for over 2 hours enjoying the peace that I long yearn after.
After this simple act, I took a walk to the famous Merlion there. It has been a long time I see the Merlion up close. So I took a few pics of it and the Esplanade(the Durian)
It seems that these are a must take photo with tourist. As I was snapping my pictures away tourist are also taking them. Some stand at the end of the water sprout opening their mouth. They hope to take a pic where our Merlion feed them with it's saliva hahaha.
Anyway most of these tourist I saw toaday are like students from Japan. Since everyone is snapping away I also snap a few of them too. Don't ask me where they are all gals it could be it is a Convert oversea trip.
Someone once told me don't ask question, just enjoy it!

On leave again
There is nothing interesting to write about.
Work still remains the same just that office politics is getting more serious.
I'm still safely away from all these struggle but again at times I wonder how much longer will I be safe.
Going to take a day off for myself tomorrow. To let myself recollect my thoughts and have a little space.
Maybe a movie will help.
But I think companionship will be a better choice....

Went to see the Doc this morning and got a Jab to bring my fever down. A jab to my rear. I was surprise that I got a Jab in my rear at this age. The last time I had that was when i was 10 years old.....
Well the Jab did it work and I'm feeling so much better now.
Now will my other sickness be cure with a Jab too?

Your Personality Type: The Social Realist
Social Realists are popular persons full of energy. They are reliable, well organized and helpful. Traditional values are important to them. Founding a family also plays a central role in their life. Social Realists have a marked social streak. They are always ready to listen to the worries and problems of others and spare no effort when they are asked for help. With empathy and understanding, they can sense what other people need. Social Realists are always willing to highly regard the strong points of the other person and to excuse that person’s weaknesses. They are the most sociable of all personality types. Social contacts are very important to them.
Social Realists find it very difficult to cope with conflicts and criticism - harmony is their elixir of life. Acknowledgement and esteem are very important to this type. Differentiation on the other hand is not necessarily one of their strong points. At work and in partnerships, they are loyal, committed and always there when needed. They find it easy to make friends due to their open, warm manner and they have a large circle of friends. In love, they are faithful and attentive and care for their partners with a great deal of imagination and sensitivity. Social Realists show their feelings openly and honestly. Should a relationship break up, they tend to blame themselves. That is why they find it very difficult to end a partnership even if it has not fulfilled their requirements for some time.
Social Realists are more conservative types. They have a set system of values and rules which is orientated to the prevailing traditions. They prefer clear, structured surroundings and work processes; they find too much change und unrest unpleasant. Their strong points are carefulness and reliability and not so much flexibility and spontaneity. Social Realists are open-minded towards anything new only to a limited extent. But, should one be looking for someone to fulfil a task reliably and exactly, they are the right persons.
So Is this Me. You Tell Me!

On-Leave
Had some fun with my New PSP(will post another entry on this) in the morning
In the early afternoon took off to catch Indiana Jones. Was hoping to get a free ticket using my UOB Debit Card. Yes they give away 1st 50 ticket away free if anyone flashes the UOB Debit card on a Monday before 5pm. To know more about this deal please visit the official UOB website for more information.
Got my ticket and went for a quick lunch. But was stop by the usher saying there is something wrong with my ticket. In the end only shows that are not free list are "Free". So I really want to watch Indiana Jones and I pay for it.
The gal(nice gal though) at the booth who sold me the tix, said to come back to her after the show and she will get me another show. Since I'm on leave why not.
After the show ends at 4, I went back and she offered me What Happen In Las Vegas at 4.50pm.
In the end I caught 2 shows almost back to back with a break of about an hour. Both show are great since I just pay for like $6 for two movies.
Things can be better if I was not alone....

Harold & Kumar - A Poetic approach
Quiet Please as Kumar recite his
Square Roots of 3
"I'm sure that I will always be! A lonely number like root three.
The three is all that's good and right.
Why must my three keep out of sight. Beneath the vicious square root sign.
I wish instead I were a nine. For nine could thwart this evil trick, with just some quick arithmetic.
I know I'll never see the sun, as 1.7321. Such is my reality, a sad irrationality.
When hark! What is this I see!
Another square root of a three . As quietly co-waltzing by,
Together now we multiply. To form a number we prefer,
Rejoicing as an integer. We break free from our mortal bonds.
With the wave of magic ands our square root signs become unglued
Your love for me has been renewed. "

Labour Day is a Work day and a HAPPY DAY too!
Did I have a nut screw off my head! NO my head is all good!
I worked on a Public Holiday while others enjoy theirs
Why am I happy?
Because today is an easy day. Not much work for me as most Market is close beside Japan.
So When Japan market closed I can go also go off!
But that not the perks that I'm happy about. It the Off that I get and the meal allowance that I get. Yes it might not be a lot but it did make my day.
And here is why. with that allowance I managed to treat my friend and I to a nice meal at Diao Xiao Er. Ok did not managed to cover all the cost but about 80% was covered!
And then we went for a movie, Iron Man. Btw the movie was free too due to the free movies passes I won!
So overall I did not spent much at all today for a fun Evening! It almost FREE!
The Food was great and the Movie was good too. The company I had is PRICELESS!
Thanks Lobster!

Ma. Maison
Ma.Maison
A Fusion of Japanese and Western food. This is my first time trying this while we explore Central for a place to chill and dine.
The place is small but cosy. Ambiance is nice and the service is more than excellence!
Many Japanese patronise this place. I see a 50% local and 50% Japanese in this place during my hour stay
.
I order a Burger Steak. The portion is just nice for me and it taste something like Ramy Burger to me but with better texture.
The key is my BILL. Yes they gave me a key as a token for my Order. By the end of the day I just need to go to the counter which they design it like a check in counter. I just put the key on a bronze bowl and wait for my actual Bill.
Total Cost $20 per person(main dish plus an appetizer)
Very interesting and novel won't you say?

Life I see it now
Getting Wedding Invitation. Yes as each year passes I am getting more of such invitation.
Getting news of someone's parents/grandparent passing away or your teacher.
Then When I look at my DAD's life....
It must be such a pain to see one by one your close friends leaving you first.
Yummy Yum Yum
Kimchi, BBQ pork, Chicken, beef and many more.
Today we have a feast at an authentic Korea Restaurant.
The staff are friendly and the service are good. They arranged for us to sit in a room rather than outside with the general public. Really feel like a special guest!
Ok back to the food. We order a buffet set which is at an affordable price I will said.
It is very different from the usual BBQ steamboat we have. usually we have hot pate then in the center is a pot of soup. This time round the center is the hotpate and surrounding is the soup. The soup based is kimchi too!
And beside the BBQ buffet they gave us a lot of side dish. We have Tofu, Kimichi Cabbage, Kimchi Radish, Ikan Billis, Hot dog and one more vegetable. Oh yes we order their Korea Pancake too!
Spent 2 hours eating and chit chating. It was a great time. And to end it off with a birthday cake for dessert!
Oh Yummy Yummy!

Handbag for you SIR?
I think pretty much so. Yes, at times we won't be pulling chair out for the lady and standing up when the lady leaves the table. But that does not means we are not nice or caring.
I think Singaporean guy has done fair share of opening doors for the lady and help them carry heavy stuff. That is gentleman enough.
But to carry a Lady's HANDBAG!
The latest talk and sight about MAN carrying their GF's Handbag is creating an interesting topic.
I hear some comments that it is okay for a guy to do it if he love his GF/Wife. Or this is now an equal status world and it a gentleman action to do so.
But the strange thing is that this is occurring only in Singapore!
You don't see our neighbour countries having this phenomenon. You don't even see this in the western country where they pride themselves to be a gentleman.
Let's define what is a lady handbag...
It is an accessory to complement their clothes rather than what it can do. A bag's original intent is to carry and hold things. Therefore they have that many handbag. Same logic for having that many shoes but hey that another topic to blog next time.
So since that is the function of a lady handbag, then man should not carry them.
1. they may not complement with what they are wearing
2. man don't wear/carry accessory
3. it call a LADY handbag and not a MANBAG!
4. it just look stupid for a man to carry a lady handbag
In short, a man can carry a lady handbag when the lady needs to go to the toilet or to be away for a short time. But not carrying it for hours while they walk down orchard road.
Anyway this is my view. You all have your own view and if you want to share it go ahead and write down your comments on the chatbox.
So Handbag for you SIR?

Be kind Rewind
Where, what and how are you?
What are they doing now?
How have you been my friends?
Questions that I have some answers now
Last week I found out two of my St pats pals are working in the same company as me. They might be in different department but at least we can email each other for short chats!
Our teacher from OI passed away this week and due to this I happen to met up with some old classmates. It's a sad event for a get together but it either a wedding or something like this that gets us together. Found out that a lot of them are teachers. A few are happily married and some even have more than 1 kids! Just 10 years and many things has happen.
What will they be in another decade?
What will I be in another 3 years?
Questions that only time will tell!

Cheerleader Compeition 08
This year event is held at Kallang Lesiure Park. And since I have nothing to do for a Sunday. I decided to go down and support my good working friend(ok he now works for DB and not within my firm). He still my tok cok buddy!
Look at the crowed gathered for this compeition. on the second floor of the mall. Before the compeition starts.....Guess a lot of supporters from all the various schools that particpated this year
My friend the coach of two teams. He is not performing but he still wants to wear the uniform. Wonder does he have a festish for uniform? Guy in Red can look good too Just look at him.
Now you know the famous quote, " Save the Cheer Leader Save the World" This bunch of people must save their own first before they can save the world. Throwing a lady up as high as 2 storey high and catching her is itself an amazing feat.
I have to agreed that this year stunt is much better than last year. Well enough of all my writing, as the wise man once said, "a picture worth a thousand words" Let the pics below said it all.
By the way if you are interested in this year winner
